After a 6+ year hiatus.

........I'm back into traditional shaving.

For some reason got the urge today, dug up my old mug, brush, DE, etc. and gave myself a shave. Felt good. No idea what shaving puck was in the mug, the scent was long gone, but it lathered just fine.

The Prorasso after shave creme, on the other hand, was probably past its prime.

I'll have to sort through my other stuff and see what's still good and what needs to be chucked.

What did I miss? Any new hotness in shaving stuff?

The landscape has changed quite a bit. Stainless Steel razors (Tradere, Above the Tie, Weber, Feather) are very much in right now. Also, synthetic shaving brushes have developed to the point where their performance probably exceeds badger brushes. So many more choices in soaps and creams. Many more artisan products like Mike's Natural Soaps, Queen Charlotte Soap, Mystic Water Soap. All great stuff.

Wow, I looked up some of those razors and with the exception of the Webers, man are those pricey.

Wow, I looked up some of those razors and with the exception of the Webers, man are those pricey.

They are, but they are also made in fairly small batches out of stainless steel, lots of handmade work going on with them. So while pricey, the quality and craftsmanship are top notch, and you will definitely only need to buy them once. With minimal standard care, they will easily last several lifetimes.
