Advise on a peening hammer

That's what what kind of hammer that I just ordered yesterday. The larger diameter side has a domed smooth surface. I would think that the larger surface is for starting and the smaller is for finishing. It said in the description on ebay, that its weight is 3.2 oz. I wonder it that's the head weight or the total weight of handle and head? I ordered some K&S pin stock also, I've read that its sometimes not "perfectly" straight. Does that matter all that much?
