Advice on upgrading from a Tweezerman

Let me start off I've been lurking for a while but have not posted, great site with great information. I've been looking at brushes and with all of the choices it's boggling my mind. I could use some advice on a new brush.

Currently I have a Tweezerman which I've used for about 3 years. I used to face lather all the time but have been moving to bowl lathering but still do both. I use creams and soaps. I'm looking to spend around $50 or under but that could be flexible. What I'd like to try is something with a larger knot and in a bulb shape. I've read you can get a fairly good deal on a Franks Shaving brush but they have been hit and miss for some people. Also the golden nib seems to have been a good choice for a lot of people. Besides starting there I'm lost. Any recommendations.

If you are looking at a badger, I would suggest either a Simpsons Berkeley or Special in Best, or a Whipped Dog or TGN finst or silvertip. If you want to venture into a boar, I cannot recommend the Omega B&B blond boar at WestCoast Shaving enough!

+1 on the B&B boar at WCS. It's my favorite brush tied with the Whipped Dog silvertip. At only $20 this one has no downside.

I made a decision and went with a whipped dog brush from Larry. It was in my price range and have heard pretty good reviews along with good customer service.

Congrats on your purchase! I just ordered my second from Larry this morning. They are spectacular brushes for the value.
