Advice needed: how to keep track of how far you've read in a lengthy thread

I've been experimenting with various methods. Bookmarking (either browser or B&B) the last post I've read. Liking every post I read (yeah I know). Seems like there should be a better way and I'm just not finding it. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

That's good for short term. I would probably help if I used the same browser on my phone and PC.

If you mean you are beginning to read an already lengthy thread from the first post, and want to keep track of where you are in it, prior to arriving at the contemporary posts (that can be tracked with the New Posts link), then this is my approach. Read posts 1-XX. Copy the link to post XX from the share icon, paste into a plain text file that is synced to all my devices by Syncthing.

Open the text file when I want to resume (on any device), click the link. Profit!
