The very fact that you asked this question already means you're on the slippery ARAS slope. It doesn't matter what anyone here says, and even if it did it wouldn't matter because we're all enablers anyway.
Give in. You're going to buy a Slim or Fatboy. You're already looking in the Mall, and are probably just about ready to post a WTB. Next, you'll start perusing the Ebay listings. My prediction: By this time next week you'll have already bought at least one and maybe two. Don't feel bad. We've all been through it.

I started with adjustable DEs cause I didn't know what type of aggressiveness I needed. This is a good tool. Later I bought, am am still buying, non-adjustables without regard to aggressiveness. I really think that the bottom line is your experience level and technique with a DE or str8 for that matter. Haven't tried slants tho, toooo scarry.
