Schick Proline P-Series (7)
Damp washcloth aka “shave binky”
AP ShaveCo Cashmere 30mm synthetic brush

Lather: ARKO!, face-lathered
Aftershave: Ulm Nom
Post-shave: face wash with shave binky
Post-shave: Neutrogena Hydro Boost gel cream

My new favorite sat it out while I tried my old favorite with my favorite soap. I think seven shaves was a bridge too far for what I wanted, but it was still a fun shave.

I must jerk the head a bit because the slots line up perfectly. I think it's the slant that might move things as it gets tightened down. I've only used the Kai Captain Titan Protouch blades so far. I have all the other available blades with the exception of the Pro Proshave P's.
The blade can actually line up with both the top cap and the safety bar on my X1, which I think is the right way.

After putting the blade on the top cap, I use my finger to slightly push the blade to the edge of the cap.

Autumn is here, clocks change tomorrow and it's raining. On the plus side it's only about 8 weeks until the nights start drawing out again.

On the double plus side I had a fantastic shave. I'm enjoying the change is using the ultralight aluminium Hawk.

Saturday morning.

Yaqi Excalibur + Feather Professional blade
Shavemac 89 "Gold rush" handle 26x58mm pure badger brush
Tabac (glass bowl)
Denim "Gold" aftershave

Took me a while to try one of these, but if you choose to consider it a cheap and cheerful Chinese chazor (and don't overdo the alliteration) instead of something my lawyer tells me I should say is "heavily inspired" by something ten times the price, it's a good one. It's never going to be competition for the other one, but if you think of it in the same way as William Shatner's cover version of Lucy in the sky with diamonds, it has significant merits and a charm that's all its own.

I like it.

Bit of an Italian theme going on, only because we had pasta for tea last night. Tried face lathering again today and it was just as good as yesterday. There may be something in this malarkey. As an ardent bowl latherer I have never taken the time to learn it.

Upshot is I quite like it. Of course it opens a whole new rabbit hole of brushes suitable for face lathering, something I had never paid attention to. I guess most of my brushes would be suitable but where's the fun in that.

Chan Eil Whiskers

Fumbling about.
Thanks for a fun month of AC-format goodness, @Chan Eil Whiskers !

Thanks to you and everyone else who has participated.

It's been huge fun for me to see the array of old and new AC platform safety razors used this month. Only one razor previously unknown to me has been presented, the Stando brass. As far as I can tell it's not available at the moment.

At least partially due to this thread I've purchased two more AC platform safeties this month. One is the RR Hawk v3 which is okay but not to me as great as my old SS DLC Hawk. The other is the Vector Titanium.

My month will be ongoing as I plan to determine whether to keep or return for a refund the newly acquired Vector. It's an incredible design. Whether it's a bit too much for me is undetermined.

It's a bit amazing how so many guys haven't tried the AC platform. The blades are fantastic. There is a smallish, but great selection of razors.

In my opinion it would be great if the ATT X1 and the Vector Titanium could get together and have a baby.

Happy shaves,

Jim
