5. Ft. Campbell Kentucky, 95% of the base is in Tennessee but since the base's post office is in Kentucky, then the base's official location is designated as "Kentucky".
6. At one point in time, I was wearing the Screaming Eagle patch on both shoulders.

Left the Army as an E-5 Sergeant, re-joined 5 years later as a Civil Servant GS-11 (equivalent to Army Captain) in Germany and I had direct management and supervisory authority over several dozen uniformed soldiers i.e. they worked directly for me 100% of their time on a permanent basis. It was sort of a strange position for me, having authority over soldiers but not wearing a uniform myself - damn, they wouldn't stop calling me "Mister" :) The difference is that my role lacked "command authority" i.e. I could not reassign them and I could not impose legal punishment (UCMJ) on them.

Left Germany and moved to Finland well over 20 years ago, have Finnish citizenship now and will be here for the rest of my life.

2011-2019 USMC I was with I BTRY 3/14 4th Mar Div (east coast)

I was a 0811 Section Chief (artillery). I was a Sergeant when I left.

2020-Present I joined the Army as an 11B (infantry) stationed at Fort Drum. That’s a whole different kind of cold there haha.

Currently reclassing to 17E in Fort Gordon as Electronic Warfare. The only thing better then shooting a machine gun is a ray gun.

Hello everyone, first off, thanks for your service!

I served in the USN from 1984 until 1992. I was first attached to COMPATWING 5 at NAS Brunswick, Maine, then I went to VP-23, and I finished up my second enlistment at AIMD Brunswick, Maine. I got out after the 1st Gulf War as I was an AZ2/E-5 (Aviation Administration) and it was made very clear that my chances for advancement were very slim.

After the first Gulf War, and the tumbling of the Berlin Wall, they started buying people out, trying to downsize. Never thought I'd see that in the US Military, but I saw the writing on the wall and got out after my 2nd enlistment.

Anyway, made some great friends and still keep in touch with some of them. Sadly, my old Squadron was decommissioned and the base where I served was eventually closed.

Hi there!
