Two brushes arrived this week.

Simpsons PL14 Manchurian. Outrageous 145mm. Shown with my Wee Scot, 65mm, for an extreme size comparison.

Vintage Simpsons Keyhole KH1. This one mystifies me. The brush is marked 'best badger'. The knot has a dark, soft, not floppy hair. It's not scrubby either and holds water well. The coloring of the hair is more of a very dark auburn color rather than black.

Do you use the vintage shaving brushes or are they just collectables? How does the badger hair stand up to the ravages of time?

Envelope from UK ?

Ah Jonny, the Wilkinson Blades, Super-MAx stainless and Tesco blades arrived.

thanks a bunch more homework for me to do.

Did I mention that I really love Knize Ten?

After hours of searching I found a distributor that is still well stocked and offering Knize Ten for an incredible price. Check it out.

I believe that's one bottle for each of the Mama Bear soaps in your last order!

Got my first package from Scotto this week
-Salter Mint
-Taylor Avocado
-Taylor St. James
-Coates Tea Tree
-T&H 1805
-AOS Lavender
(Grabbed cologne samples as well)
They all look great thaks Scotto. Problem is, I dont know where to start.

Also picked up the line of New Spice from St. Charles (Soap, Tony's Choice, Cologne). Im not sure of the smell. I am going to give it a fair shot but may throw some up for trade if it does not work for me.

Rik,

There won't be ROOM in the casket for you! And if you are cremated, be sure that someone warns the workes to stand back 250 feet!

Alex.....I use some of the vintage brushes but not all. I'd say about half of them, particularly the older sterling silver travel brushes are display only. If the hair hasn't been grossly abused most hold up quite well. I usually use shampoo and conditioner on them and apart from a bit of hair loss they revive.
