Hey Rik-

Where do you get your K10? All of the places I use online are sold out.

Greetings Jer,

I had to search hard to find these 125ml bottles and ended up purchasing their entire stock. This has become my signature fragrance and have stocked up enough so I don't ever have to worry about running out. I know Scotto has some decants for sale.

Greetings,

I received this nice piece of machinery in the mail yesterday. I believe it is a Gillette No. 66. I paid about $20 for it with case and gold blade holder. Sweeeet

Roger and Gallet Pour L'Homme Shaving Soap

Well, I purchased this Rakowski brush on Ebay, I just had to check out the genuine horn handle, it is gorgeous by the way, but there is a little bit of glue that crept up the badger, near the base of the brush. I will report back about performance after I use it for a while.
Oh, my order from Honey Bee also came in, Shea Butter shave soaps.
Vetyver
Sandalwood
Lemon Lime
Cheers, DJ.

The Nancy Boy stuff looks interesting...

As mentioned elsewhere, I got a not-too-pretty Gillette Adjustable off of Ebay yesterday, and the day before that I was at Colonial rounding out* the collection with a new A/S splash (T&H Spanish Leather -- SWNMBP, a/k/a She Whose Nose Must Be Pleased -- heartily approved) and T&H Pre-shave Oil. Problem with taking her with me is that she got antsy and wanted to leave WAY before I did... not unlike our kind when we go shopping with their kind  )

Cheers,

Josh

* while this implies that I am now "done," you sharp gentlemen will not be fooled.

Im still waiting for all my T&H products from the UK. the UK ebay sellers scare me it takes way longer for stuff to arrive then ordering from USA that is just plain MAD !

I stopped by Enchante today to sniff out a new cologne and talk to Charles for a bit. Walked out with a new bottle of Trumper Spanish Leather

Hey Mike....I thought that you were going to say that after talking to Charles for a bit you stopped by the pharmacy for a tube of heads up.:out:

It's a trip.

Simpsons Emperor E3 Super
Simpsons Polo 8 Super
Feather Artist Club stainless steel
NOS Penhaligon's Hammam Bouquet Shave Cream

Used the E3 already. It was given my patented three step brush conditioning program: 30 minutes in Nancy Boy Laundry detergent, Nancy Boy shampoo then 5 minutes with NB conditioner. I was concerned that the height of the loft combined with the small knot would result in a relatively floppy brush, but this couldn't be further from the truth. Most brushes bloom out immediately after I use the NB products on them, but the E3 kept it's fresh out of the box unused shape. It worked wonders on the CADE shave soap and allowed me to survive my first Artist Club shave without even the tiniest of nicks.

Alex What a Haul are you on some sort of conquest I must and will conquer all Razors and shaving brushes ? you are going very nicely im impressed !

or is it something deeper?

Is it your reward for getting that honorary degree ? or is it the pain you went thru all those years of studying all that lecture /literature and now the real beast comes out ?

Thank you for your response up front and remember anything and everything you will say will be used against you in a book soon to be released by me

Hi Rene,
The story behind my recent acquisition disorder flare up goes back awhile. I am an avid poker player, but due to continuing ill health and my university work I hadn't been into my local cardroom for ages. I kept playing, mainly on the internet but I also won a couple of tournaments in some very small casinos and finally having a sizable stake decided to return to my special venue, a dingy little backroom that hosts semi legal games all week. You know the kind of place, like something from 1940's film noir, so much smoke in the air you can barely see an inch in front of you and filled with 100 year old men whose skin is stained yellow from nicotine. Certainly not the most luxurious of places but over the years I had developed a special fondness for the place and its patrons. They were also some of the best players I have ever encountered, despite some of the legends in their own minds you encounter on the internet these old timers were the real thing. So I was delighted to be returning, I knew the regulars would remember me, as most of them had gone out of their way to make me feel welcome and had taken an interest in teaching me the game, this is the only place I have ever felt truly at home (sorry for being sentimental, but I loved that place like you wouldn't believe.) What did I find? Some ******** had torn the place down and replaced it with a supposedly upmarket club, of course I was going to leave but I heard someone mention the "big game" so I went in and having flashed my stake money around was invited to sit at the main table. I am not the most social person, in fact I am so self conscious I can barely utter a word between my stuttering, and so I was subjected to half an hour of abuse and ridicule by some abrasive ********'s, finally something inside me snapped and I had one of those passive aggressive Incredible Hulk moments (I forgot to say "you wouldn't like me when I'm angry") and spent the next 18 hours or so going on a bombing run. My selectively aggressive style of play went out the window and I was in every hand, raising all the time. I am not a sadistic man, but seeing their self confidence drain as quickly as the colour from their cheeks was extremely gratifying and I left the game with enough money to buy a small island. Of course any talented poker player will see how stupid I was, I had found an easy game (despite their attitude the player's were rubbish) where the stakes were very high; I could have spent months using this game as an easy source of income, but I couldn't control my anger and had to obliterate everyone there and then. I have nothing but my girlfriend and shaving to spend the money on so acquisition disorders here I come; I had ordered a lot of stuff to arrive when I got back from Australia but due to various customs and Royal Mail holdups it has only just started to arrive.
To everyone else, I apologise for rambling and I am sure you have no interest in my woes, but wet shaving is about reviving something long past and my backstreet cardroom was the same for me, an antiquated little place that had no business being in the 20th century, but I liked it all the same so I hope you will understand.

Hi DJ,
From the photo of the soap cake, the letters appear to be visible. Was the soap just soft or did the soap in the bowl degrade? Is the embossing on the soap inside the wood bowl still visible? Maybe extreme summer heat is something I will need to consider prior to shipping.

The St. Louis area was in an oven too. Heavy storms have finally brought relief but also no power to thousands.

My God, Sue, that must have been brutal. Here In Montreal, we were getting the 90's all last week, with such humidity that I needed to either wear no fragrances at all, or very light ones.
