Found this yesterday . The etching on the blade is very light, but it says: Wade & Butcher's Celebrated....second lines says: Fine India Steel Razor.

The scales are definately usable, but not pretty.

I put a little clean up to it, I think I'll send it out tomorrow for a honing

First off I managed to grab a nice vintage travel kit. I particularly like this one as it is in excellent condition and has quite a few containers that I can fill up.

And a nice looking ball end Old which comes in a Bulldog case. I really wanted this one as I bought a Bulldog last week without a case so I'll be able to match up a case and razor again.

Bad weekend for me. Not a single razor aside from an ol' "Made In Germany" generic travel razor($3). On shaving related items were a Gillette blade box and box of colgate soap(part of a $10 lot w/a Zippo lighter) a NOS still on card package of Wilkinson Sword blades($1) and a "All blade Stropper"($0.25). Anyone know about the stropper?
On a semi razor related find, for $3, I got a pipe rack with a HEAVY glass tobacco holder. But the best part is the notches cut for the pipes. They are actually the perfect size for a Gillette razor head. So rather than cutting down the stand to allow the razor handles to rest in the holes, I can just let them stand on their own!

I just managed to pick up a group of three nice razors. A very nice looking Slim Adjustable, a gold fat handled Tech and Old or New Improved of some type (can't see the handle properly in the picture).
The real jewel that I was after though was the case. It's a Gillette President case and I happen to have a Gillette President without a case so now it will have a home. Picking up the three razors was a bonus.

Just to prove persistence pays off. I've been visiting this little shop over the last year and have only found a Bakelite New case. They have a high turnover though, so figured at some time they'd have something. So finally today after about 6 visits......what's the first thing to greet me ................

Not exactly collector class, but considering it's age and the price I paid..............

. If only I hadn't sold that #22 case that was one of my first finds. Just shows to show you should never sell/pif/get rid of anything that MIGHT come in useful on day !!

p.s. has anyone ever noticed that the #22/66 is slightly shorter than the #16 ?????

I'm a little embarrased. A razor turned up in the post today. The wife opened the packages and because it's rubbish collection night, she threw the packages out in the bin so. I don't remember where I bought it.

Well the outer package doesn't give away what's inside. With a bit of spit and polish I reckon it came up pretty nicely.

It's a made in England, New Improved but I've never seen a case like that before. It has a brown leather interior and a brown leather exterior that looks like it is pimpley lizard skin.

I gave up as it got too expensive compared to the other ones I've got recently. I only wanted it because it was a different case, all the others seem to be Tan coloured.

Bought this on a auction site in Sweden, for approx. 20 usd incl shipping. It was produced in the same town as the Heljestrands, Eskilstuna (where all the best straights were made in Sweden).
