Acqua di Parma After Shave Lotion or Balm

Anyone have experience with the lotion or balm? The lotion is more of a tonic/splash when the balm is more of a cream to soothe razor burn?

Yes. I would say that the balm is a little runnier than what I think of as a cream. It's not as runny as an aftershave "milk" though. Expensive.... but wonderful scent. I have both, but I do not use them daily.... more of a special treat/occasion. They are both very soothing IMO.... and very good performers.... but nothing more extraordinary than some of the more inexpensive aftershaves. You're paying a little bit for packaging, tradition and scent. AdP is one of my favorites.

One of my favorites too...I use the Collezione Barbiere shave soap/cream in the tub several times a week and the original Colonia EdT and was curious about the aftershave lotion and balm. Seems as though the balm would be best for fall/winter and the lotion better for summer?

Absolutely. + 1 for what Ben said above. The AdP balm and the Collezione Barbiere Shave cream(in a tub) are marvelous, but SO expensive !

That's the general rule of thumb around here.... although I use AS lotions and balms together all year round. I always, always use a lotion (splash). I will apply a balm if I need a little extra soothing or moisture. I can't speak to the exact ingredients in AdP aftershaves, but for me the quality and performance are there. So often, the aftershaves put out for designer type colognes are little more than alcohol, fragrance and water.... and don't really provide much soothing. This is not the case with AdP. The performance is definitely there for me. I think they are worth every penny.... I just can't afford to use them everyday :001_unsur .

After a shave, I apply Thayers aloe witch hazel, aloe gel and then a moisturizer.

Do you apply a moisturizer after the lotion or balm?

Yeah....old thread...but worth resurrecting..Just tried the AdP after shave balm. I got a few samples of it when I purchased a tub of the cream in their Paris retail store. First off..really love the scent. Very similar scent as the cream...a perfect compliment. That said...it’s performance is nothing special. Not nearly as moisturizing or soothing as my l’occitane Cade. And significantly more expensive as well. Summary? Huge, huge thumbs up for the cream...Thumbs down for the Balm...
