Hello, folks,
While my first DE doesn't arrive, I have to content myself with a Mach 3. I posted this picture on /r/wicked_edge and got some flak because of it. Redditors were saying that cartridges are fine and that my technique must be terrible, that I'll butcher my face with a DE, and that I shouldn't blame the blade. I'd like to know your opinion on it.
First of all, I was using canned foam as my shaving cream. As soon as I got out of the shower, I picked a used Mach 3. Going WTG, the razor started pulling/exfoliating my skin like hell, specially XTG on the jawline (I was holding at the tip of the razor, applying no pressure at all. Yet, I felt it scraping my skin).
On the neck part, I had to go about 4 times because it just wouldn't cut the hair, making me apply a lot of pressure in frustration (I know, I know).
If I don't pick a brand-new Mach 3, that's what happens everytime I want to shave every other day.
In my humble layman's view, I think that a DE with a sharper blade would cut the hair more easily, making me less frustrated and applying less pressure. Furthermore, it would cut less of my beloved accutane-cracked, overly sensitive skin.
So, what do you think? Will I cut myself like a butcher, or will it get better?
I shall be using a Gillette Tech with a sampler pack.
Thanks a bunch!
