Interesting thread! Nice to understand the key variables here and how difficult it is to get good data.

It's not easy, that's for sure. Blade gap is basically the only parameter that is easy to measure. Imagine if blade exposure, guard span, and blade angle were easy to measure, but blade gap was difficult to measure. Pretty much no one would care about blade gap. Blade gap discussions over the years would have been replaced by discussions about blade exposure, guard span, and blade angle, and I'll bet a lot of purchases would have been affected.
