What's new

Acca Kappa

I haven't heard too much of the cream but I picked some up when I saw it in Vegas since it was so similar in scent to Cella and other Italian products.

I've had for a few months now and I'm safe to say it is THE BEST cream I've ever used. Move over SMN this is my cream in a short list of creams that I really like.

I didn't notice it had lanolin until I used it because my face felt even softer than when I use MWF. Low and behold it also has karite :001_tt1::001_tt1: There may have well have been Holy Water in it.

I'm lovin Italian products more and more and more.

Their freaky high priced wood shave soap bowl turned me off from them long ago.

Maybe it's time to revisit. The 1869 Almond stuff? They seem to have a few different types.

Move over SMN? Waaaaat? Can you be serious? Is it like Cella?

Doh! I love the lanolin products also ...

I know, you and I see things alike, but I just picked up the last 2 tubs a vendor from Amazon had and I only keep an inventory of Valobra, Cella, MWF, Alt-Innsbruk and Musgo Real so I'm in neck deep to avoid reformulation.

The soap I've never used or plan to but it's dense as CF

*edit: It's the 1869 and the scent is sweeter than Cella.

I use it like a soap; few swirls to load the brush and bowl lather but I guess you can face lather too.

Like most lanolin or shea products it does like water .

I don't have the soap and I haven't seen it in years but I only remember it being in a similar shape as the bowl which was nice because it sat down low and had plenty of room so lather won't spill over. I've never tried the soap though.

I paid $32 I think, I also bought a few other things for my wife. I wish I would have picked up the after shave, it smelled really nice.

I am very happy to hear that Italian traditional shaving products are so appreciated and loved. This makes me feel a very, very, very proud Italian Old School Wet Shaver.

This stuff is slicker than deer guts on a door knob. I can't remember using a cream this slick. Cushion too.

Sweet Almond. I almost want to eat it. Love this scent.

LANOLIN wins again.

Well this thread made me bite the bullet and I ordered some this past saturday. Generally have not found a cream that I prefer over a soap, but I've also not found many products that I prefer over the italian ones so I have my hopes up!

I have nothing of value to add. But when I saw "This stuff is slicker than deer guts on a door knob," I thought the writer should be penning ads. :tongue_sm

the cream in the tube that is reviewed prior to your review is NOT the same as the cream in the tub. Look at the ingredient list; it is quite a bit different. I guess they changed the scent, as well.

Thanks for a thorough review. Looks like a nice product.

Whoa! No way!

Yeah I just saw that. I wonder if the new tubes are the same now.

Amazing reviews. I just fell victim to this thread, too! Tub on the way.

EDIT: also interested in whether or not the tubs and tubes are different formulas.

Wow there is a huge difference in the tube as to the tub. I wonder since the consistency is so dense in the tub (CF like) that it has to be different in the tube? The picture of the original review of the cream is nowhere near the visual of the tub consistency. Well if it was reformulated it may have been the best reformulation in history, I wouldn't be able to stand a cream with the smell of Fahrenheit as the original review said.

Heck I am too. Curious to buy a tube now.

I'm actually hopeful that I get along with this scent. I'm traditionally not an almond guy. I have both DR Harris and P.160 and those are great soaps but the smell is what keeps them in the back of my cabinet.

I'm hoping that AK is different. I want to like it! If not, there'll be a discounted tub on the BST!

Heck I'll buy it from you I already have 4 tubs now:001_smile

The scent doesn't last as seems to be the common occurrence with Italian soaps. PusherMan said cherry almond, I hate cherry scents so I wouldn't agree with that part. I'd just say sweet almond.
