Hey all,
For a while I was scared to even come to this part of the forum. But after reading a post about venturing into straight razors, the AD was inflamed (isn't that always how it happens). Soon, I couldn't understand why I didn't have a straight razor, and how I needed to buy one to remedy this injustice.
I went back and forth on the idea, and for a while was going to compromise with myself and get a Feather Artist Club, but then I thought--if I do this, I might as well go all-out. So I just ordered a 6/8 Le Grelot from Theirs-Issard with Ram's scales. And a strop (and a sharpening strop and pastes). I'll get the hone later, provided I can figure out how to shave with the thing.
Thank you for the invaluabele resources that are stickied here. Truly amazing. I look forward to givin this a try! Using the DE as a middle man definitely made the leap easier. Not that I'm going to give up DEs; instead, I gain a new player in the rotation.
