What's new

About the new Proraso lineup...

Since the Proraso site is down right now, is the following correct about the soaps/creams:

Green........available both in tub and tube

White........tub only

Red...........tube only

Blue...........neither (balm and aftershave only)

J Roger I think you are correct as far as what is available now. I recall seeing pictures of the blue in a canned foam format but no tube or tub. I wish they'd make the red in a tub.

i love the sandalwood red tube. smooth shave and blade glides real nice. even days ol' blades. I gotta admit, it grew on me because the quality is good. as for the scent, subtle, does not linger. (I sometimes just lather with this and wash it off when I'm having a bad day, this and razorock green tobacco)

Thanks guys.

So as it now stands:

tube...........green, red, blue
tub (pot).....green, white

I'm really drawn by the Red, and really hope it becomes available in the tub(pot).

As for the Blue, some people report it smells like licorice...I just smell licorice candy and my stomach turns (same thing happens with anise...which is often used in licorice candy). Hopefully reports of the smell has been exaggerated.

There is no white tube that I have seen, only the tub.

That's right. No white tube available right now, but that was the same for the blue tube until recently.

We have ordered the blue tubes, but not sure when and how many arrive.

But I don't think that Proraso will release anything new (red tub) before the holidays.

In the old line-up, the white version was also only available in a tub.

If I remember correctly (but be careful that I often don't), in the first post I've seen about new lines and packaging of Proraso, a while ago, the OP (which I think was one of the vendors here) mentioned that there would be complete lines of green, white, red and blue. I think he mentioned explicitly soap (tub), cream (tube) and aftershave. I am not sure about pre/post.On the other hand, he said that there would be no reformulation, but obviously was wrong about that. So, I don't know if he will be right about the complete lines. (He was right about the new red and blue, and the first to write here about them, AFAIK...)

Out of curiosity can anyone tell me if all the new versions of Proraso still contain menthol? I haven't been able to find ingredient lists.

The green still contains menthol, albeit many (myself included) consider it a much softer punch in the face with the new formula.
The new red tube is without menthol, although I enjoy a nice cooling sensation from the sandalwood oil.
I've personally never tried any of the white tubs, so I can't comment there.

Thanks for the info. I am, sadly, allergic to menthol and have thus been unable to ever try the Proraso that so many rave about. But if the red tube does not contain menthol then I may give it a try.
