It was an ugly piece of wood, so I painted it. This evening I’ll try a CA superglue finish over the top and hopefully the glue won’t negatively react to the paint!

Cool handle, it has kind of an ivory look to it. I’ve never used CA over paint so the only thing I can say is make sure the paint is fully cured first. I’m interested in how it works.

Well, sadly the CA did react to the paint and made made it crack/wrinkle. It was worth trying, but in the end a fail.
I turned the finish off, re-sanded and applied CA only. I'll post a pic when its done.

I had a bad feeling that’s what would happen. At least the time wasn’t a total waste as a lesson was learned. Did you use enamel paint?
I have used CA over laquer with no problems
