Just for a point of reference, badgerhair is sterilized around 190 degrees Fahrenheit. At sea level, water boils at 212 degrees Fahrenheit on a "Standard" day. What I have found is that I immerse my razor into the boiling water for approx 3 minutes and then do a "Pinky" check after remioving it to the razor stand to ensure that the water is not scalding, after which I pop the ol' badger into the cauldron! Caution, I've only been doing this (off and on) for about 45 + years. (No, and not with the same brush either.
