A vote for Institut Karite Soap

This soap is known mainly for being 25% shea butter, thereby providing a superior moisturizing capacity. The soap is kind of interesting in that it is a hard triple-milled soap, but when you swirl your damp brush on it, the soap just jumps off. So one does not need 45-60 seconds of loading the brush. As a face latherer, the IK effortlessly begins to form a thick lather which provides glide and cushion. I think this is a real winner and is worth a try.

It never ceases to amaze me how many great products are out there, and yet every now and then another one leaps to head of the pack. Definitely a permanent fixture in my soap rotation.

IK was my 2012 Shave Soap of the Year as it provided me with some of the best lather, moisturizing benefits, and comfortable shaves that I have found in any shave soap or cream. Just a great product that is almost effortless to lather.

Yep, this is on my to purchase list along with some Arlington. Not sure which to get first as I'm trying to limit myself to 5 soaps/creams.

I'm probably in the minority here but I need to soak the puck + 45-60s loading time to get great lather. Don't get me wrong, the lather is fantastic, it just doesn't easily load on the brush.

I went ahead and grated the puck into a bowl today, it seems MUCH easier to lather now.

When I tried IK I first loved it, then I kept using it exclusively for a good while and it did not seem all thy good in the long run. I like MWF and the Italian soaps better.

I have a puck of IK. It is a solid soap, but I doubt I will buy it again. For my face, there are several soaps that leave my face softer and better moisturized post shave.

I rub the puck on my face. That makes it much easier for me to get enough soap for a lather.

My sentiments too. MWF's post shave feel is better. Cella's lather is thicker and slicker. And of the 3, IK's scent is the least appealing.
