A Unique Boker in G11 Scales

What is G11 you ask? It's G10's illegitimate, criminal bent older, redheaded cousin. G11 is harder, denser and takes higher heat. G11 is not the thing you want to try to whittle scales out of more than a couple times in your life. It was free and I'm cheap to a fault.

These took me months to shape because most of it was done by hand with abrasive cloth. No way I'd try to work this stuff at home....or even on my own property. The dust has to be seen to be believed. It clumps in the air on the way to the floor. Looks like snowflakes. Itch? OMG does it make you itch. Be very careful of your nose and eyes. Nasty mean glass fibers stick in you from every un-smoothed edge. I worked on these standing in front of a big fan to try to blow the dust somewhere uninhabited. Ruined my diamond files....Evil stuff.

It is kind of interesting stuff though. I can't nail down what color it actually is and fairly translucent. Wedge is brass and ebony.

I love the blood groove and it serves a purpose by allowing this blade to feel as keen as a hollow ground yet with a certain sturdiness to it. Velvet squee-gee..

It looks like you did a fantastic job on those handles. G11 would definitely not be my choice of something to work with, but those look good.

That blood groove is actually the top of the horizontal stabilizer, isn't it? Nice blade.
