A Shulton Old Spice Shaving Brush Travel Tube

EclipseRedRing

I smell like a Christmas pudding
I acquired this vintage Shulton Old Spice deodorant stick a while ago and have been wondering how to make use of it as the contents are perished. I have repurposed it into a very effective, and I think rather stylish, brush travel tube as shown:

You can push out the entire inner section from the underside:

It is the perfect size for my Duke 3, Chubby 1, Colonel X2L and Semogue brushes (the 2016 and 2011 Foro Afeitado LE, and the Chubby 2 handles are too thick) and has a perfect vent hole for drying. It is not unlike a Simpson Major in function.

Very clever repurposing of an old item!

Dude, I don't care what everyone says about you, but you is a genius!

Well done my friend! I've got a Brut push up that is almost done!

If we play our cards right, we maybe could sell these things to Millennials!

I have taken the sage advice here and added shave stick functionality. I grated some MWF, added a splash of a suitable scent 😀 and packed it into the tube. I found it best to push the tube up and support it from underneath then pack the first few cm. That way I could fully compact the soap and remove any air pockets before lowering the soap platform and adding more soap. The addition of the Old Spice made the grated soap easy to shape. It moves up and down OK so I will leave it a couple of weeks to fully dry before trying it. I tried to impress an Old Spice logo in the top of the soap but had no success. It certainly smells good and I can remove the soap completely if I want to use the container as a brush travel tube. All I need now is somewhere to travel 🤣
