I have re-posted this hopefully in the right section this time. Any information would be helpful.
I have a Simmons Howe Co. razor it has the number 3 on the blade and also U.S.A. and has an ivory handle it was my uncles razor and he left it with me when he died. I was talking to my dad who is 89 years old and he said it was their dads razor. I know nothing about straight razors and was wondering if someone could tell me if it is that old enough to have been my grandfathers because he died 24 years before I was born, and if it would clean up good enough for shaving because it would give me incentive enough to try to use it. Although I pause when I think about putting it up to my neck. With my being a reenactor I from the mid 18 century period there would be no more hiding in my tent to shave. I tried looking it up on the review page but did not find anything on S&H.
