So my birthday is the 4th of July. On Friday the wife took me to the AOS shop and we picked up a Merkur Futur. Today, she and the kids gave me the Jack Black synthetic shave brush. And, by coincidence, the Georgetown Scuttle they ordered for Father's Day finally arrived. So today was my first shave with the scuttle, the brush and the razor. I used a little Trumper's Rose and I have to say it was pretty darn good. I'm most impressed with the improvement of the Jack Black brush over the Body Shop brush I've been using (I seem to have a sensitivity to badger). Loads and loads of lather from that thing, and it's super soft. And the handle feels like the most substantial plastic ever created.
