I did a few restorations the other day and I think they came out quite good, or? The new knots are a two-band finest (left) and the two others are Silvertip Grade A, all from TGN.

I'm curious about something Herr Master Brushmeister Vey. What do you enjoy more, restoring vintage handles or making your own from scratch?

Those are lovely, btw. I had the exact same brush handle on the far left in the second photo that I'd cleaned up and was going to put a knot in, but ended up selling it with some other knot ready brushes on the BST. I see that pic and now my morning coffee is flavored with a little regret.

I like to make new brushes better. But the only reason is that some old brushes are really nasty to work with. In some cases, I wear a dust mask, and I always wear latex gloves until I have the knot removed and the initial cleaning done. Another problem is that sometimes I run into issues with thin walls that can crumble after the knot is removed. It is often a risk involved and i always let my customer know this.
