A perfect opening, or product rec's for SWMBO

Was talking with SWMBO yesterday, after me making a joke about my growing collection of shaving gear. She gave me the perfect opening to expand her world into the joys of wetshaving.

She currently uses a multi-blade and plain water to shave. The reason for this is that the canned stuff ("with all the perfumes and chemicals and crap") burns and irritates her freshly-shaved legs, leaving them covered wit little itchy red spots.

I mentioned to her that I really liked the ASB that our daughter got me for my birthday (Bigelow Elixir Black) and she complained that there was no apparent similar product for women.

What I'm hoping to get (first) is a line on some sort of AS treatment that I can get for her, so that she doesn't have to contend with the itchy, burning red spots after she shaves. Second, I'd like to get some leads on shave cream products that she might like to use. She's definitely not a fan of the chemical-rich "lady goo" that is on the market.

Any pointers, especially from the ladies? (I'm not trying to change her mind about the razor... Yet)

Shaving with plain water is pretty hard on the skin- it's probably contributing to (if not creating outright) the razor burn afterward, so perhaps a gentle suggestion towards using some kind of lather would be the most helpful here. I quite like Lady Cremo, as far as day to day lathering agents go, and it can just be worked up into a lather directly on the skin if you don't think she's going to be game for a brush yet. Heck, I got by for years slapping on a coat of whatever body wash I was using at the time- it may not be a terrific solution, but it's a step up for your skin from plain water.
For afters I've had great luck with Thayer's Witch Hazel with Aloe. There's no alcohol in it, so no burn, and I find it to be very soothing.

I thought that I had seen you refer to "Lady Cremo" in another post, but I can't find anything about it on the website. Can you post a link for me?

I was thinking about Thayer's with Aloe for her, too, as a helpful measure.

Well, I actually buy it in person at our local Wegmans, not online. I imagine a quick Google search will give you the main site for it- I'm pretty sure it has one. It smells fairly pina colada-y, if she's curious.

I use the Thayers a couple of times a week as a facial toner, too, and it's very soothing as an after-product for eyebrow plucking, if that's one of her grooming routines. Great stuff.

KMF unscented works great and is unlikely to irritate her. After the shave just get an unscented aftershave milk from SCS or MB.

My fiance loves the Cyril Salter Sublime Citrus cream I bought. Which is lucky for me since I didn't care for the scent. For summer time paired with it she uses TSD ASMilk in Mojito. Smells great and kills any burn you might get.

+1 for Cremo or Lady Cremo both smell really nice.

My g/f uses Cremo all the time with a disposable razor and loves the moisturizing effect and irration free shaves she gets now.

Alice.com has both Cremo and Lady Cremo. Quite a few of our vendors carry regular Cremo. The creator of Cremo posted a coupon code for Lady Cremo if you buy from alice.com you get $2.00 off plus free shipping if it's your first order. Check the vendor forum for more info.
