The thing I like about seeing a collection like yours is I don't feel near as bad for how many vintage DE's I've acquired

Now, after 20 years hunting razors, i don't know what to do with all that...collecting razors whitout shaving it's pretty ridiculous...

Plenty of people in similar positions out there - people who collect wine and never drink it, people who collect comic books and never read them.
Some things are just collections for the pure joy of collecting it, and some are for a perceived financial investment - either way, if you like doing it, that's all the reason you need.

It looks like your specimen has an aftermarket case of some sort.

thanks, i will do. you have to know about french people: we got a lot of "red-neck", rude, angry with buyer, bad mind, impolite ( no "hello, no thanks, no "sorry", no "you're welcome") , many of them are scare about "paypal transfert" , "sending parcel", "internet deal", they think they surely should be scammed by hackers even they talk to you by phone! This one was very very special and specialy racist and unfortunaly my roots are from morroco north africa...i was for him an ennemy not a buyer! ha ha ha

no i don't, i just brush it with toothbrush and vaseline.
I would like to have it replated by a jewelry professional. 14 karat is the most fragile gold plating (Gorham is 14K plated) that why this razor look so dull. The best compromise between solidity and gilt is the 18k.
