A House Divided-Sandalwood ASB

I have been blessed that every aftershave scent I have liked and purchased she has liked too. Yesterday I decided to use some of my Edwin Jagger samples that came with my shave brush. I shaved with the aloe cream and followed it up with the natural sandalwood aftershave lotion.:w00t::001_tt1::em2200::jump: The scent, the feeling, it was like The Heavens opened and beamed a light of goodness onto my freshly shaven face! How could this be? The scent instantly made me intoxicated with a feeling of happiness, pleasantness, wow that stuff smells by far the best out of any scent I own. It's like, I found my destiny and it is in Edwin Jagger Sandalwood ASL.

I pranced my way to my wife and sheepishly asked to give me a smell. What happened next was abominable. She said she didn't like it. :ohmy: :a47: Suddenly my life crashed before my eyes.

Those words made me feel like :a13::a7::a19::a52::a6: It was like, I didn't even know who she was? I slunk away, defeated that for the first time, our house would be divided-EJ Sandalwood ASL and me on one side, my wife with her evil oldfactory on the other.

Last night I begin searching for sandalwood ASB/ASL in my area that I could smell and possibly match up to my beloved EJ. I went to a Crabtree & Evelyn nearby to do a smell test. Yuck.:scared::thumbdown:yikes::eek6:. When I got home, I let her smell my wrist where I applied it. She likes it!:a32::crazy::shocked:. So I guess this will be a house divided. I really love that EJ stuff and when I have the money I'm going to make a purchase so I can entertain, at least my own, senses.
:lol::lol::lol:

I haven't tried the EJ, but so far SWMBO has not liked anything sandalwood that I have tried. Ah well, some things we just have to do for ourselves. :001_tongu

Ah, yes. The whole SWMBO approval process is, for me, murky at best. Generally speaking, my DW hates the scent of virtually everything I use (with the notable exceptions of rose & bay rum). I've learned not to even bother asking what she thinks anymore. I just use what I want.

+1

It had the opposite effect in my house. I had a sample of AS splash that had a sandalwood scent. My wife loved it to bits... makes me gag and want to scrub out my nostrils.

My wife and I have known each other too long for "fragrance disagreements" to become an issue. We just agree to disagree, I wear what I want and we both throw a party when she notices a scent she loves!

Sorry to hear that. On another note this has to be the best use of emoticons I've seen in awhile. :thumbup1:

Now I need to try the EJ sandalwood - fortunately, my wife likes most of my colognes/scents and we agree to disagree on the others.

Sorry for your pain.
