A good video for beginners to watch

The guy in this video knows what he's doing. Three passes that cover all the directions and good technique in the areas that beginners have trouble with. He uses a scything motion, which takes a bit of practice. Also, a very good pre-shave routine.

I have been shaving with a straight razor for a long time, and I still pick up little things from this video.

Check out 7:50 in the video for some scary passes!

If there is a better video to showcase the highest level of competence in shaving with a straight razor, I have not seen it.
I think people kind of forgot Willi Peter. Here one of his videos, although this one is not that popular.

And if you think it was impressive, then check this one as well:

I have learned a lot from watching straight razor videos, but I have yet to find a great getting starting video by an expert shaver that contains a good narrative with demonstration about the fundamentals. Would love to find one!

Its a legendary video. Chimensch was an active user here several years ago. Here is the original thread: Chimensch's 30th Anniversary Shaving Video - https://www.badgerandblade.com/forum/threads/chimenschs-30th-anniversary-shaving-video.136249/

This video and Lynn Abram's tutorial are the best to learn from for newbies and pros.

Yeah, good stuff there. I learned a lot watching him. He is engaging and a good teacher.

I don't think he's doing vids anymore however.
