A good and light TTO?

Hi,
recently came back to propper wet shaving after many years and did a blind-buy of a MUHLE R89 Rosegold (mainly because its beautiful design and colour..). There is nothing wrong with it, but i noticed that i have to be carefull as the razor seems pretty heavy to me. (Years ago i had two alu DE razors, so thats why i ´m a bit surprised by the weight.) I thought i could try something else too, some of the TTO razors.

Are there any good TTO and also lighter alternatives to my Muhle? Or should i stick to it and work around my technique?

Thanks and sorry for my broken english;)

Stick with the R89 and work on your shaving technique. The rose gold Muhle is a looker and you should try to get to know it.

BUT....

If you want a lighter TTO razor look for a G1000 or G2000 slim twist razor or a Schick Krona. Those are TTO and very light.

A vintage Gillette Super Speed is a very light razor. I also have an R89 and by comparison the Super Speed feels like a toy. However, it might be just what you are looking for. They can be found in very good shape for under $30, mainly in the low to mid $20 range with light wear. That's not a significant investment compared to a Muhle or another top end razor. Even a Slim Adjustable from the 60's or a Super Adjustable from the 70's.

+1 on the Gillette Super Speed. Its by far my favorite of all my DEs. I have a 56'. They don't getter better than this.

thank you all. i will try to find the blue tip or slim adjustable somewhere. it´s quiet hard here in europe.

If you're in Europe you might look at the Rockets as well. I'm not sure if they're easier to find there or not, but I would assume so since they were made in England. There are the blue tipped flares as well as some aluminum handled 40s style that might work well for you.
