When you look at a wood block, does the pattern / color of the wood influence the handle shape?

Some what, If I see something in the grain of the wood I try and feature it..
sometimes it doesn't matter. My idea is to let the wood show off it's natural beauty .
That's a nice grain!
Steve, do I detect a little "red" in that piece? It's gorgeous. Reminds me of a "high class" box elder!

Chechen is also a wonderful tonewood finding more popularity recently in guitar and ukulele making. This is a beautiful piece. Nice work.

Thanks everyone for the kind words 
I wasn't going to post anymore pictures until it was ready to go to a new home and hopefully make someone smile, but here it is with one coat of CA finish on.
