What's new

A few bug pics from a recent fishing trip

While the fish were deciding whether or not to grace my net, I decided to have a look at the wildlife!

Got a few shots with the D800 + 300mm f4 lens with 1.4x converter I had with me.

And this one was snacking on something of the winged variety!

I need to make a snap shot of a mosquito drinking my blood. That's the only creatures, other than biting horseflies that frequent my backyard.

Thanks guys!
No sorcery or witchcraft:laugh: Just point the lens at the bug and press the shutter really, I was shooting at 420mm so was a fair distance away, which stopped me spooking them too much.

Forgot to say what settings I used. Full manual, f5.6, 1,250-2000 shutter and iso 400-500

Now half as wise
Great detail, especially with handheld shots. I need to think more about upping the shutter speed when taking outdoor, handheld shots.
