If by Texas South you mean an area where Covid-19 is rampant and among the poorest spots in the nation I'm not sure Venezuela is very far behind already.
So back on topic! Went to a friends house for a visit and ended up at a USFS range for some play time. Zeroed in his 1952 .30-06 Winchester and his Ruger American .308. I took the little Taurus and put it through its paces at 30 yards. Not great but I accounted for 49/50 on an IDPA target. It's a shooter! I am not... Still pushing the gun

You sir are my new hero!It was about 20 degrees with a few inches of snow. Half a dozen of us still got together for a few rounds of skeet.

Yeah, I don't believe I've ever seen anything like that on any target I've ever shot!Ummm...what are those little dot things outside of the red square in the center of the target?
You sir are my new hero!
And I'm not above stealing firearms from my heroes! That's a beautiful picture of a BEAUTIFUL gun my friend.
I'm a simple man, but that to me is ART. Remember when those guns were what everyone wanted their guns to look like? Character.I dont know if being too dumb to get in outta the cold is heroic....lol.
Thanks for the compliment on the Browning. I really enjoy that gun. I probably shoot 700 to 1k shells out of if a month. Here it is a few months ago when I tore it down for a service. It was time for a lower firing pin. I really like the engraving. The other side is a different scene.

I had an Astra A100 in .45 ACP. In my hands it was a tack driver. I shot better with it than my HK USP in the same caliber. So on another board a member was talking about introducing a young couple to some different handguns and the young couple really liked several but were disappointed to learn that none of the models were still being made. One such example was the Astra 75 which was a great smaller 9mm SA. That reminded me of what is perhaps my favorite 9mm, my Star UltraStar. It's another very short lived model that never really sold well, an early Polymer framed single stack compact.
The model used stiffing ribs in the polymer frame as well as steel inserts for slide/frame interface and feels much like an all steel frame in stiffness. It has an extremely low bore axis compared to some other similar sized guns I owned like my Sig P225 and the predecessor of the SA XD series the HS2000.

Just for fun I searched IMDB (Internet Movie Data Base) to see if one had ever been used in films and sure enough one was used in the 2006 Casino Royale; BUT, the image they included is of my UltraStar.
