a couple of recent finds

I just picked up a travel tech in a thrift store $3 and an apparently new in the box mystery (at least to me) Gillette I'm sure you guys can educate me on it, it sat in the store for at least 3 months that I know of and they were asking $16 for it, I told them it was there 3 months ago and asked if they'd take $10 for it, they called the seller and I got it for $10

It's a Bakelite handled Tech. I wonder what color the head is on the one in Bob.e's photo? To me it looks like it maybe black?

I saw one like that on e-bay...looks kinda neat...and $10...that Rocks...by the way, the Travel Tech is very nice

The black head, and the plain jane box it came in (as pictured on Mr. Razor's site) makes me wonder if maybe these were military issue? That is the most logical reason for the head being painted black, instead of plated (along with being cheaper of course).

Surely someone with far more knowledge than I will eventually stop by.
