A Couple of Post-Shave Questions

I just got my first alum block and the directions say to rinse it off after it has dried for a couple of minutes. Does everybody rinse it off? I left it on today, without applying any AS, and it kept my skin comfortably tight all day, and definitely reduced redness. Wondering if rinsing it off will reduce effectiveness.

i also recently started using Thayers Superhazel and wondering if anybody else had problems breaking out with it.. Love the smell and feel, but I think I have narrowed it down as the break out culprit.

This is another YMMV situation. I normally rinse off after using the alum block when I need it after a couple of nicks. If you found that after leaving in on your skin made you feel good all day, I say that you should roll with it!

I usually rinse after a few minutes, but if it works for you with no irritation go for it. This hobby is what works for each person.

I always rinse off the alum after a couple of minutes. You should not leave alum on your face for extended periods. It dries out your skin. After rinsing you should use an after shave balm or moisturizer in order to take care of your skin.
