Time for a new PIF. This one is for those of you who haven't ever restored an old brush. I will provide an old brush that needs to be cleaned, have the old knot removed, polished, and have a new knot set in. It can be done with a minimal amount of tools (I use a dremel with a machining bit, and a sanding drum), and you will have a usable brush when you are done. Please note that I am not supplying a new knot, and you will need to pick out what will suit you best. There are a lot of options available, and you can pick what suits you best. The brushes involved will take an 18mm or 20mm knot.
You can look through this thread for a general idea of how to go about the restore:

Ok, now for the fine print. 2 conditions only: First, to be eligible, you must not have done a restore before. Second, I'd like you to report on your project. Create a thread in the brush restoration area on your progress (hopefully with pictures) as you complete your restoration. If you have questions, that would be a good place to ask as well.
I will give the winner his choice of one of these 2 made rite brushes
the brush on the left is a bit smaller, and may require an 18mm knot. The brush on the right should take a 20mm. If you win, I'd wait until you get the old knot out before ordering the new one. It can be hard to tell before then.
Post here with an I'm in to be included. I will select a winner on January 12 using a random number generator.
