A bit less aggressive than Envoy?

Tried the Envoy for the first time yesterday and got wicked neck burn. What in your experience is less aggressive than Envoy, but more aggressive than Henson Mild, Feather ASD2, Merkur 23C & DE89? Daily shaver, mild-ish skin. The others I listed are TOO mild. I didn't like the GC 68 for some reason so that one's a no-go.

Maybe a Nacet wasn't a good choice for the Envoy? Will try a milder blade next time

Might depend on what you is most readily available to you and how much you want to spend. I assume a price tag around Envoy level when making suggestions now:
The Ambassador as adjustable Envoy would obviously allow dialing down, but is also blade forward and more expensive. You might like the Mühle Rocca or the Edwin Jagger 3ONE6, those fall between Envoy and DE89 and are relatively inexpensive.
You might also like Lupos, someone else here might be able to tell you which vintage razor falls into this range.
The Tatara Masamune Nodachi and Stando razors from Poland (look on Etsy) also come to mind.

If you still have the GC .68, you might want to try the 1.05 baseplate that was recently released. I never tried the Gamechanger, but when the 1.05 came out I gave it a try. Very nice level of efficiency with comfortable feel.

Absolutely try another blade, and watch the amount of pressure. Unfortunately, I started with a mild razor, and became accustomed initially to applying some pressure to obtain a closer shave. That doesn't work with a more aggressive or less forgiving razor. I find my Rex (Ambassador) to be rather blade sensitive as to how the shave ultimately feels, and it wouldn't surprise me if the Envoy is also somewhat blade sensitive if it shares the same blade forward design.

Give a Lord Platinum blade a try, they're super smooth, yet sharp enough to deliver a close shave. Other smoother blades are a Voskhod, Rapira Platinum (or any Rapira), Wilkinson Sword (India not German), and Personna Blue (US) are smooth in the Ambassador and should give a less irritating shave than the Nacet. - Nacets are good blades, but trade a little smoothness for sharpness.

Yes. It always amazes me how blades deliver different shaves in different razors. It's also cheaper to experiment first with blades than purchasing new razors.

My skin is particularly sensitive with reasonable preparation so, take that for what it is worth.

I used the Edwin Jagger 89's a lot in the beginning. For a gentle mindless shave, they are an easy and safe bet for me.

That being said, today the EJ 3one6 and Muhle Rocca are my current primary DE razors. It took a few shaves to really dial them in but, today I get irritation-free close shaves every time with them. DFS to BBS shaves are easy to get without weepers, bleeds, or, irritation.

The Yaqi Romulus AC bladed Single Edge razor is also worth consideration. On the 11.11 sale, it should be ~$55 or so and a great option for you.

@sidpost the Romulus is my latest razor and I really like it a lot. Only two shaves so far, though. I think I should rather say it seems I like the feather pro artist club blade. The blades seem to determine character a bit more than the razor compared to DE razors.

Wish he would go for machined, just don't like beat blast matte. That's also what is holding Tatara back for me somewhat.
On Stando razor, I agree with you, I don't really like the beat blast matte finish
While that of Tatara is definitely made better and smoother, similar to that of Karve SS
I too prefer the machined finishes a thousand times 👍
