What's new

a Barbers gift. the Blades.

I have two other posts describing how I received these razors, so I'll leave that part out here. :tongue_sm So, here are the two razors I received.

First up is the Ophir Gem. On one side the tang reads manganese steel 86. On the other ist says H. Geo. Henry, Columbia PA, Made in Germany. Beautiful scales, that read Ophir Gem. There is a story to the tip, that my dad couldn't remember. I will get it when I talk to the Gentleman who gave them to me.

I'll put the next razor in the next post.

Up next is a Hess 1145, made in Germany. The blade reads "Hamburg Grind Try Me". I love the scales on this razor. When they are cleaned up, they will be fantastic.

Both razors have some hone wear, but I am hoping they can still be saved and used. But because I am determined to save the scales, I might send them out.

Looks like the the 2nd razor is a blade that has been rescaled with HESS scales
Not sure what make the blade is.
Clean them up and see how they shave.

They should clean up nicely - why not try doing it yourself?

The pins, my friend. They make me extremely nervous. I have never been known for my light touch. :crying:

There isn't anything except for a makes mark of some sort and a number on them. I do plan on cleaning and using them.
