7” Rosy Red and 6” Lilly White, $5 find.

7” Rosy Red and 6” Lilly White, $5.

Picked up these two Arks today at a local Antique Store, they were sitting next to each other, yes, $2 for the Lilly White and 3 for the Rosy Red.
The Lilly White looks like it was never used, the Rosy Red is oil soaked but looks lightly used.

Second set of photos is after a squirt of Dawn Degreaser and 5 minutes with a stiff fingernail brush, removed all the surface oil.
Both are now soaking in Dawn Degreaser and water.

I do love the "Wet Stone" label.

How do you know it's a Rosy Red? Assume I am ignorant of everything related to oilstones, because it is true.

I have a couple other Rosy Reds, it does not come out in the photo but the second to the last photo, after a quick surface cleaning, shows a blotch in the center of the stone and it is a dark red.

I suspect it will turn more red as more oil comes out.
