Gillette 7 O’clock Week shave number six. Still using the Indian Gillette 7 O’clock Green blade. This blade has had six shaves and still has one more left in it. Not bad in the end, no blood but a bit of sting when I applied my Alum Block.

FRIDAY MORNING:

3rd & final use 70clock black.
Same OK experience as yesterday with the Astra.

I usually get 3 good days out of the blacks and can squeeze in a 4th that is better than today's 3rd was. They weren't Bad shaves, just not Easy. Chalking this up to Lost Mojo.

By the 3rd use of an Indian Astra SP on Thursday, I was denying that the Indian Astra SP and 7oclock Black are the same blade. Placebo can be very powerful and I've changed variables because I wanted to...but in hind sight, both blades ended up following the same path this week. @helicopter 's testing suggests they are at least very similar.

***I will send two 7oclock blacks and two Indian Astra SPs to 2 people (the remainder of my astra tuck) who want to try for themselves. Simply message me as "In" on the subject line to keep traffic off this thread. CONUS only. Winners announced Sat 8/31.***

FRIDAY EVENING:

18 hours since last shave after a long day & mild sunburn.
What the heck, time to pay my Pint Penalty and get in on Arko! August with the Fatip OC for good measure.
I at least jammed on a Razorock HD handle for decent grip.

7 0'Clock Permasharp Stainless.
BBS.
The Mojo is back.

Finishing off an enjoyable week by loading a 4th use yellow into this 1st Gen 1948 Aristocrat Junior. Perhaps nothing to get too excited by looks-wise, but it shares a head with the 2nd Generation British Aristocrat, and offers a fantastically on-the-right-side of aggressive smooth and enjoyable shave. This and its fancier sibling are both great razors and for me the SharpEdge is a great blade in either.

7 O'clock Week - Gillette Yellow 7 O'clock SharpEdge

TL;DR -
Switched soap, same razor and blade, smooth and close shave, DFS+

Equipment: Ali X3-D2 Razor, Gillette Yellow 7 O'clock Blade (3), Maker's Homestead Focus Shave Soap

On To The Shave: After skipping yesterday's shave, the GYSE blade picked up where it left off with shave #3 providing a smooth and close shave. I switch to a local, New Hampshire soap artisan's goat's milk soap, which provided a wonderful lather base for the GYSE blade to show its capabilities. The results were a solid DFS+, close to BBS- range. I still like the Black over the Yellow, however, the Yellow is a very good blade.

Acknowledgement: Thank you, @ivan_101, for organizing and hosting 7 O'clock Shave Week. I'm gaining a great appreciation for Indian made 7 O'clock blades!!

I shaved Sun. both head and face, used a new 7 0 permasharp for the head and the "shiny" 7 0 Yellow for face.

Head Shave

Soap: Arko (because I use it one day a year, in Aug; given this is mixed w williams mug)
Brush: some huge RR N.....had enough lather for 4 shaves.....use it very seldom as it will almost push lather into the eyes, it's good for the head.
Blade: 7 0'clock Permasharp (1st).
AS Aqua Velva Musk

2 pass smooth shave, a bit of irritation on the neck

This was the first use of this particular blade, they are good. BTW it's amazing how these used to be inexpensive years ago (I never bought them) and just recently tried them thanks to Grundi. And I just ordered 100 (not from @Mazon).

Next yr I will use the 7 0clock black and one of the Green russians (found some at home).
