I seem to recall using a green many moons back and not being very impressed, and I've never acquired any blacks, but these are always in my rotation.
Addendum: The Progress usually lets even less than stellar blades shine but this one not. It feels kind of rough with an rasping off sound. The results are ok but it's not a joy to use.

Oh Lord! Now I suppose I'm going to have to track some of each down, aren't I?There are fwo different green 7 o'clocks. Super Stainless (Russia ) and Permasharp Stainless (India).
Besides the brand new and shiny blade you also changed: razor, brush, soap. And you do not mention the AS used now. Also "2+ pass" (whatever that means) vs 3 pass with the previous blade. This all leads me to be sceptic that the reason for your irritation the first time was the oxidation on the blade.I got a 7 0Clock Yellow out from a total new sleeve, this one looked shiny and new
Razor was Henson +++
Soap SV
Brush Simpsons 3X
Head and face shaves
This time it was very smooth 2+ pass and no residual burning after the shave. Good stuff, well kept.
What's a Brass'Bird?Fresh Yellow in a Brass'Bird today. Fantastic shave. Using the Yellows again this week has affirmed my feeling that this is about as good as it gets for me. Highly efficient, smooth and safe.
Blackland Blackbird in Brass. Used mine today too!What's a Brass'Bird?
