What's new

7 O'CLOCK WEEK (2024) STARTS on the 19th of AUGUST.

Starting on the 19th of August for the fourth time on B&B we will have the 7 O'CLOCK WEEK.

Rules:
Use a 7 o'clock blade and / or a 7 o'clock razor. (7 AM, Sharp, etc. blades don't count, except if they are in a 7 o'clock razor)

Part-timers are accepted.

Important: a 7 o'clock razor with another brand of blade is acceptable. You can also use a 7 o'clock PII razor even if the cartridge is not a PII. Or just use a 7 o'clock PII cart in any compatible razor, no matter its brand.

Do not forget to post pics and tell us how was your shave.
You have time to get 7 o'clock blades if you don't have any. ;)

In & Ready!

Planning to rotate through these 3 blades daily all week - a Permasharp Stainless, Super Platinum, and Indian Astra SP.
The Astra is new to me. I am adding it as a relative of the other two in light of @helicopter 's testing:

I might throw in an Indian Astra SS (if it arrives in time) and roll on into Week 2.

Just came across this thread today. Unfortunately, I just started this week with the Rubie...

I will jump in and comment. Since I have a pencil-thin mustache, some of my razors are not that desirable to shave in this area. Such as, the R41 head. A bit on the agressive side.

So I do keep out my PII on the sink counter. This is where it comes in handy. In 2023, I did three separate weeks using the same PII blade, with excellent results.

This year, I had been using a Personna brand blade. I just replaced the blade for the 2nd half of this year.

I believe that I bought a 100-pack of these Personna blades on sale for $14 a couple of years back. They are very good blades and getting a cartridge blade for this kind of money, is an exceptional value.

Actually, yesterday I cleaned and removed my blade before I did my clean-up pass. I picked up the PII and used it for the clean-up.

I prefer the PII over cartridges with more blades. Simple really is better. As specially when it comes to razors...
