'58 Gillette TV special question

Gents,
Why does the TV special of '58 not get any press?
I realize that it is just another 50's era SS, but no one seems to talk about them when they mention the SS.
They just seem to go on unnoticed.
You'd think that because they were a special for one year that they might have some value at least.
Any comments?

As far as I know, the only difference between the TV special and any other flare-tip SS is the knurling.

Personally, I think it's cool just because there weren't as many of them produced, but the razor itself is essentially a late-50s SS.

As short as the production run was, they always seem to be available on eBay and I don't typically see them fetch more than $20-$40.

The Rocket TV Special was at least Rhodium plated.. they could have at least plated the Superspeed TV Special in gold.. I personally wouldn't have cared for it in gold, but it would have made it special and I'm sure some people would've like it..

Agreed. It is just a little different looking and it shaves the same, but if it is a special piece and had a limited run, then you'd think that it would garner some kind of attention.
Ah well, it looks good in the collection anyway.

Yeah, my TV Special is the only real 'collectors piece' razor I own, since I have the case, blades, and original instructions with it. Not to mention the razor itself is pretty mint.

Shame it isn't more respected. I think it's much more aesthetically pleasing than other 50's Super Speeds.
