500 Post/Frank Zappa day HAIKU PIF! Great Googly Moogly!

To celebrate my 500th post on B&B, I'd like to offer this DE/brush/soap/cream and blade PIF to show my gratitude to the forum for the information, generosity and camaraderie I've found here.

The rules of this PIF are:
1) to be eligible you must be somewhat new to wet shaving and/or to B&B - being a member less than say 2-3 months (+/-)
2) to be eligible you must reply to this thread with "GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY" so I know you've read the rules and are "IN"
3) to be eligible you must write an original Haiku about wet shaving in general, or any aspect specifically, or about B&B or, hehe, about Frank Zappa or his music. **If you want to submit more than one Haiku, it is certainly encouraged - please edit your original post and add it there for organizational purposes - no one will be ruled out of contention by not doing so however.**

....and remember a Haiku is a 3 line poem: 5 syllables, 7 syllables and 5 syllables respectively.

Apologies to our international B&Bers, but due to shipping costs, potential duties etc this PIF is CONUS only

a winner will be decided sometime on Wednesday, September 19 to celebrate FRANK ZAPPA DAY and I reserve the right to solicit help picking a winner from fellow B&B friends.

the offerings:
$500 post PIF.jpg

1 Gillette Fat Handle Tech DE razor (post WWII -1946-1951?) Sterilized & unused by me
1 large Omega Boar Brush (used twice)
1 La Toya shave soap stick (new)
1 Arko shave soap stick (new)
2 GFT shave cream samples (Limes & Coconut Oil -new)
1 pack each (5 blades in each pack) of: Feather Hi-Stainless blades, Pol Silver Super Iridiums, 7AM Platinum (green pack), Shark SS, Shark Chrome & Astra SS

thanks to B&B for everything you do (even enabling me to spend WAAAAY too much on shaving gear than I thought even possible)

Good luck!!! Have fun! .....and....GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY!

GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY!

load load load that soap
wet it, whip it, whip it good
apply, shave, rinse, repeat.

Definitely in!

"GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY"

strop, strop, strop my razor
load, load the brush, lather my face
shave, rinse, repeat until BBS

I'm in, this is a very cool contest

GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY!

Rich, creamy lather
Sharpened steel gliding smoothly
Face, baby butt smooth

Great PIF! Now I have haiku possibilities running through my head. Are we limited to one? :biggrin1:

****************

I love a clean shave
Though wowie zowie baby
Love your unshaved legs

****************

Aftershaves sharp sting
Nicks and cuts cry out in pain
Badges of honor

****************

All those pucks and creams
Make a latherer's wet dream
Of shaving of course

*****************

Morning ritual
Indulging, wet shave "me time"
Starts the day off right!

*****************

For some, a hobby
For others, it's just a shave
All wet shaving rocks!

*****************

What razor? What blades?
What kind of brush, soap or cream?
Newbie confusion

*****************

I've heard "Muskrat Love"
But a muskrat's not for me
I'm in badger love!

*****************

I've finished my shave
Already looking ahead
To do it again

*****************

Much like a puzzle
Piecing together a kit
Seeking the best shave

*****************

Shave kit beckons me
I've just come to brush my teeth
Patience, ...tomorrow

*****************

Mirror doesn't lie
I'm rough around the edges
I need a wet shave

*****************

Convenience shaves work
But give me old school shaving
Like my Grandpa did

*****************

Maybe the rules of what is considered an acceptable entry should be defined. Several of the current entries aren't technically Haikus.

this is really just for fun... but I get it takes a bit more thoguht to write a true Haiku - change is made, I added a definition of a haiku to OP

Sorry if I'm coming across as a turd in the punch bowl, I didn't mean to. :blushing: I just think it's more fun and a greater challenge to get an idea across using that 3-line, 5-7-5 pattern or meter and I didn't want anyone disqualified if their entry didn't fit the pattern.

all good!!! and I did specify a Haiku, not just a poem. so clarifying was a good call. thanks! :)
