49' Milford: just a gold plated 49' SS?

Milord are gold plated Super Speeds, the same way an Aristocrat 1961 is a gold plated Slim. If a razor is replated, you'll notice markings filled with plated or letters that do not appear anymore.

I guess I don't understand why give it another name. It would be like calling a blue car a Mustang but the red one is called a Jupiter.

Gillette was also changing the name depending of the box the razor was in, I have in mind the Windsor, the Oxford, the Federal, the Berkshire & the Regent (1 razor, 5 different cases lol)

I can't take credit for this...http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/73004-Another-Milford

But at least there are some differences between car types. Lexus, nicer interior ect. Not just a change in color. But I suppose gold plating is more than just a color...it's gold.
