4711 Eau de Cologne as an Aftershave.

Hi guys, just looking to see if anyone uses the 4711 Eau de Cologne Splash as an aftershave. I have been using the 4711 Aftershave (which I really like for how good it is for my skin) but am about to run out and am thinking of getting the Eau de Cologne version instead. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!

The 4711 EDC is VERY strong scented. I don't think you would what to put that much on unless you were going to be the only one on a desert island

But I thought even with the Eau de Cologne the scent fades relatively quickly...not the case?

Not with me. 4711 EDC lasts about 6 hours on me and is very strong. Find a place where you can try some. It smells NOTHING like the after shave

I have used the aftershave but not the EDT. So my opinion is uninformed, but I would think you would want to use the AS then the EDT... not just substitute the latter for the former.

The EdC splash lasts about an hour on me at best. Nonetheless, I don't use it as a scent, just as a refreshing lift when I need it - after a haircut on the back of the neck or following a hot shower.

If you want a long-lasting 4711 get Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino - but don't spend retail for it. There are much cheaper places to get hold of those if you look around.

Thanks guys. Much appreciated. I talked to Joe at Italian Barber and he confirmed what I suspected, the AS has better conditioning properties in it more useful for skin conditioning after a shave than the EdC. You would use the EdC for different purposes and it is basically just scent and alcohol.

Gentlemen, this is an old post, but I thought I'd put in my two cents. I use 4711 as an aftershave as well as cologne, and find that it fades quickly enough. But it doesn't seem to have anything to condition the skin.
