4711 AS cologne follow on?

I bought a bottle of 4711 and at first I thought it smelled way to like the orange based cleaner I used cleaning engine parts on my truck. But after a few it smelled fine and while it toned down quite a bit, it seemed to me to linger at least 5 hours or more.

My question is, what is a good follow on cologne?

ps. to answer any question, I bought the 4711 without sampling, but I read it had a citrusy smell, which I like. But I think the bottle may have swayed me. shiny.

I love 4711. I wear after an evening shower after having worked on the yard all day. Unfortunately, it is short lived on my person. A similar scent that last longer is Hermes Eau D'Orange Verte.

Oh man, I was in Marshalls tonight and I was so close to buying a big bottle of 4711, but there was no tester so I passed. I've purchased too many things without first getting a whiff.

I haven't tried either of these but I read a ton of comments on both that their longevity is really poor.
