What is the "notched post" that the 1947 Super Speed lacks?

The blade holder, that long narrow thing that slides through the center of your blade is straight on the sides. Newer models have a little notch in them to help grab the blade.
It's easier to identify it by it's 'fins' or 'wings' that come up on either end of the holder.
