🪒🗓️365 Shaves 2023🗓️🪒

RE House brand soap inspiration is Creed Silver Mountain Water which I have never smelled :) but I do really like it so am curious about it because of this soap but $$ for now :) hahaahhaha
great bang for buck soap IMHO :) to me I describe the lather as one of those lighter feeling than the thick heavy ones ? Hard to describe but works up quick nice holds water well and works great really is one of the better ones I am using and prefer it over many other artisan soaps for slickness especially

the blade comparison continues and since this is like my 4th go around with blades not much has changed but the Astra in blue box is nice close to the Nacet or just behind it for me
but reckon will do a few more runs with it anyway

Razor: Muhle Rocca R94
Blade: Personna Platinum(19)
Brush: Yaqi Moka-Express 2 band badger
Soap: EJ Limes and Pomegranate

EJ soap again tonight with the Moka-Express not a bad lather a but my mind just wasn't on the shave tonight and my first attempt was too watery so I needed to go back to the puck for a little more soap. First pass was okay but on the second pass the distraction led me to nick my neck. All in all I was glad to finish up tonight just to get it over with and honestly it is not often I feel like that about shaving.
I was surprised to realise I had a near BBS finish. At least tomorrow is the start of OBIF so I will start off with the R89 and that will go easy on my neck for a while.

Tuesday 31st January, shave #31

Notes to today’s shave:

A new razor arrived by surprise yesterday and I had to shave with it obviously!!

I paired the razor with the Tiger Platinum - the blade that Green Cult used to ship their razors with (I received mine with a Gillette Platinum). The combination is medium efficient and medium. The razor is on the heavier side, but simultaneously nimble and versatile. The shave is super comfortable - at no time I felt the blade even though it definitely has positive blade exposure.

The Tiger Platinum is a mild(er) blade and therefore requires more passes on my part to get the results for the day. I think the Green Cult can be and will be more effective with a sharper blade. BOSC science continues!!

An unexpected surprise and very welcome addition to my collection and I have you to thank for it @flask28!:thumbup::thumbup1:

More details can be found in my journal here.

Enjoy your shave!

So another run with the Blue box Astra against my base Nacet
Nacet had the easy side the Astra had the tough left side !
Timeless .68 Ti SB

and have to say the nacet felt sharper less tug but in the end the splash hitting the face the Astra beat out the Nacet a tiny touch for comfort ? Hmmmmmm always interesting
was very very close and overall a super super comfy shave a tiny touch of tingle on both sides but very little and that is what I am always going for is that only the alcohol evaporating feel and no tingle/sting at all !

Shave #32. 333 remaining. Exceptional shave for some reason today. I am starting to think that rinsing with CeraVe lotion every day is making my skin impervious to nicks and weepers. Super comfortable shaves. View attachment 1598271
when ya say rinsing is that pre shave or post shave or ? :)

been using the Cervae facial cleanser and love the stuff but notice if I use it preshave I think it makes my shave worse :) hahahha more testing but for sure notice that
same thing if I shower before hand my shave is never as good and has more post irritation feel but the cutting of the whiskies is fine its almost like my tender face has this limit of how much cleaning soap it can have on it
makes sense with my allergies
funny from a guy who worked on boats in the islands and have my face beat with sun and sea salt and then diving all day long with no sunscreen ? But its the soaps or some splashes that do the irritating

Which CeraVe product are you using? There are a lot of them. I'm using this stuff immediately after I shave, rubbing it on my face and letting it sit while I take my razor apart and wipe down the parts. Then I rinse it off and put aftershave on.

Feather AC Pro (1)...(maybe I can keep count this month)
Castle Forbes Lime
Simpson Super Badger

Good Day Gents
Yesterday, I was a little shaky shaving due to too much caffeine. With a new AC Pro blade I didn't want to do that today.
After a couple corking strokes and adjusting the lather it was smooth sailing. I took extra time and went slowly. It was one of my most enjoyable shaves.
🍻 to us all for a good month.
Please take care of yourself and each other.

Yup. Same stuff without the French. It has a nice tingle to it applying on skin right after shave. I use a normal bar soap to wash my face before shaving. Ive also bought a CeraVe bar soap that I use at bedtime.

Dovo Bismarck 6/8
Gibbs replica with Rapira Swedish supersteel
PAA the cube mentholated
Captain Fawcett's scapicchio soap
Proraso wood&spice balm

Hmm, not sure what went wrong today. Pass WTG with my straight was great. But then the Gibbs replica felt...less smooth than it normally feels. Perhaps the Rapira blade was bad. Loaded it in my NI for tomorrow. If razors dissapoint me they usually fly out the door. But I have absolutely loved this Gibbs replica, so hope it's just the blade.

Dark day ahead, I have an extremely busy day tomorrow and won't have time for a SR-pass.
I already know I'll feel empty and soulless after tomorrow morning's DE shave. Not trying to disrespect de-shavers, but shaving with a straight really is extremely satisfying. 🥰

glad you got that razor and loving it :) I was so close to getting it but again so much on my plate :) and do reckon going to start with the Kai (mentioned before my boys name is Kai more the Hawaiian version than the Japanese but they share the same origins in a sense)

so curious what you think now compared to DE ?
I know the honeymoon fun is still in effect
but
Will be a fun thing to do but DE will still be my #1 ?
Its going to become my main shaving tool and DE will be #2 ?
Or both are great and more different than one being better so just having fun with both ?

I know this is personal thought so just curious
till I get one I need to live through someone using these ! Hahahah
