30's Sheraton vs Aristocrat

Which Aristocrat are you asking about? The fair comparison should be with the open comb '34 Aristocrat.:001_smile

Can anyone here tell me which razor is more aggressive? The 30's Sheraton or Aristocrat.

Hi there,

I've used a 1937 Sheraton quite often, and also various Aristocrats/ Diplomats. To me, the 1940s/early 50s Aristocrat types feel like about a #5 setting on my fatboy. The Sheraton feels another half click higher. The 1934 type Aristocrat feels almost the same to me as the Sheraton....maybe it's even up to #6 on the Gillette dial.

Both those open combs would be considered by me to be on the milder side for that type of razor. I would also say the Sheraton and 1934 type may have given me a somewhat closer shave than the later Aristocrats. Keep in mind that for me open combs shave closer in general. All three models are nice razors.

Hope that helps,

Martin

I can't tell much difference between the two razors. The Aristocrat has a thicker handle so I get the feeling of a slightly heavier razor but aggressiveness seems about the same.

I agree the heads are pretty similar but the weight and heft of the Aristocrat make it a more meaty shaver in my opinion (and the winner, too).

I own both a Sheraton and a Brit Aristocrat #15. And while the #15 is heavier, I find that both shave the same when using the same blade. Both are great open comb tto razors. You should be happy with either.

I do have a second Sheraton that I was about to post on BST. If you are interested please feel free to PM me.
