2nd Shave GTG, 3rd in the near future.

I have been using DE for about 90 days before stepping up to the straight, I have enjoyed bringing back the class to shaving. Being in the Army-deployed, shaving everyday is required and my neck was taking a beating, from the evil Mach II, fusion.
So a couple of nights ago a friend of mine also getting wet-shaving, let me borrow a straight razor sent to him by some of the members of this board. He had received 2 gift razors and purchased a 2nd. So the last couple of nights I used the straight, and it was fantastic. A couple of weepers nothing major. So today I took the plunge with "Whipped Dogs," and now I have my straight razor on the way.

3rd night/morning straight razor shave not too bad, I am having a bit of trouble with my chin getting the angle correct. I have been going back and forth between Proraso (ultra sensitive) and Tabac. I love the slickness of the Tabac but also really love the way Proraso feels on my face.
As far as the care of my borrowed razor, my XO, Matt uses his strop. I still am not sure what strop to purchase.

Nice! There are plenty of good strops being made! I personally have an Ambrose strop in the mail. They're getting rave reviews at the moment. Send him an email to see what he can do for you.

Dont spend alot of coin on your first strop as you're sure to nick it and worse, you might get dirt and grime on it while downrange...just get a nice one from Ruprazor that wont set you back too much.

Also...you'll need a way to touch it up ever week or two (barbers hone, pasted strop or something similar). Do you or your XO have that?

Good. You'll get a decent amount of shaves before you need it to hit the stones...the number varies per shaver...but glad to hear you have something available!
